The new packaging grew the brand tremendously and profitably says our clientChallenge:Coffee-mate was challenged by competitors mimicking their dated amber glass jar and paperboard packaging. Parity forced a price ceiling in the category, and Coffee-mate wanted to regain its leadership position in the category. Insight:laga|One80 Design worked with Nestlé to achieve a category transformation in form and function to maintain brand and price leadership for Coffee-mate. Innovation Platforms focused on updating dairy imagery, improving pour dynamics and providing handling cues. Solution:We developed a creamy-smooth, easy-to-grip plastic bottle for both liquid and powdered products, with a non-drip spout and positive open/reseal cues providing greater freshness and more secure handling.
