Now Nexcare takes a strong stand against the competitive heavyweight.Challenge:3M asked laga | one80 to differentiate their bandage line in form and function by breaking out of the paperboard box that created a commodity look in the category. Compounding this issue, in-use problems among consumers and retailers set the stage for a dramatic, high-impact solution. Insight:Upon witnessing shopping occasions, it became clear that paperboard boxes created problems when consumers broke into them to ensure the product and count was intact. As well, consumers had trouble prying them out of these boxes when urgently needed at home. These issues were incremental to the basic problem: a lack of shelf presence and rationale to buy. Solution:A see-through plastic container with beveled front facade creates a much stronger 3-dimensional billboard for Nexcare. The shape breaks out of the flat, monolithic array of boxes to show off the brand and, in fact, the product itself. And, thanks to the colorful insert, the bandages stand upright in-store and in-home, always letting the consumer know what's inside.
